1. THE KILLER FLASH FLOOD: Morvi town in Gujarat is engulfed following a breach in the Machhu Dam II on the upper reaches of the town. Two villages completely wiped out. More than half the number of buildings in Morvi collapsed. Death and devastation all around. Govt agencies engaged in rescue operations. 2. INDEPENDCE DAY 1979: India celebrates 33rd Independence Day. Prime Minister Mr Charan Singh addresses the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort. Talkie in Hindi. On August 20th, as we go for recording, Mr Charan Singh has resigned as the Prime Minister.
