Tripathi when he leaving the BHU campus post his farewell given on the ocassion of him retiring from his position as the Vice Chancellor. After the incident of protest and lathicharge on the students in September 2017 the VC was send on an indefinite vacation. However his term as VC also incidentally ended on the 30th of November 2017. Despite all the protest and media reports Prof. Tripathi was not removed from his position only waited till his termed ended and given a farewell. The students are seen protesting this act of the state.
